Pop Fly Pop Shop Checklist

When I started Pop Fly on June 12, 2020, I figured I might have fifteen or twenty of these in me. I was working out of a spare bedroom, the world had practically shut down, and I had no idea whether anyone would care about these odd little baseball illustrations. Six years and more than 260 releases later, I’m still here, still finding stories I want to tell, and still occasionally wondering how all of this happened.

The part I never could have anticipated was the community that would form around Pop Fly. There are people who have been collecting since the earliest days, people who have discovered it only recently, and people who know the catalog well enough to remind me of things I’ve forgotten. That kind of enthusiasm is a pretty remarkable thing for an artist to experience. The fact that it has allowed me to make a living doing something I love is something I don't take lightly.

Every time I put together one of these checklists, I think I've finally figured out how to organize everything. And then I remember that Pop Fly has never been particularly organized in the first place. There are the numbered releases, the collaborations, the occasional experiments, and all sorts of little things that don't fit neatly into any one category. This latest edition brings us through Season 13, along with the Ontario Tower Buzzers cards, a hotel keychain, Pop Fly's first doubleheader and a few other odds and ends that have found their way into the collection.

I've tried to make this as complete and accurate as possible, but I suspect there will always be something I've overlooked or a decision about what belongs that I'll eventually reconsider. If you spot anything that needs correcting, please let me know. I appreciate the help, especially from those of you who have been keeping track of this stuff right alongside me.

One of the nicest things about reaching this point is realizing how much there still is to explore. After all these years, I haven't come close to running out of baseball stories, and I still get that same excitement when an idea comes along and I can suddenly picture what it might look like.

Thank you for giving these drawings a place in your collections, on your walls, and in your lives. I know there are a million things you could spend your time and money on, and it means a great deal to me that you've chosen to make Pop Fly one of them.
