(SOLD OUT) "Jose Canseco" 5" x 7" Childhood Drawing

By popular demand we are doing a flash 24-hours sale of my childhood drawing of this week's subject Jose Canseco. For the next day, a 5x7 version of this piece, done in 1989-ish will be available.

As a kid in the late 80s, I absolutely loved the Oakland A's. They were an incredible team, yes, and they were an equally entertaining team with unbelievable characters on it. None of those characters on that team had quite the charisma, power and flash as Canseco and this 10-year old was enraptured.

I've kept this artwork for decades and it's so surreal to have it "out there" all these years later. What's also so interesting is that so much of what Pop Fly is today is in this piece from 30 years ago. The character aspect, the cheekyness, the nicknames, even the aesthetic - it's all there. So much to reflect on this week as I take a look back at this piece. How far we've come and so close to home we've remained.
