Up this week is a 7” x 10.5” art print of Julio Franco "Methuselah: The Ageless Wonder".

This 7x10.5" print is available for the next seven days. After that, it will be retired and no longer available. Please note - this is a preorder and will NOT arrive in time for Christmas. I expect these prints to ship in January.

Available from now until December 19th, this product print is expected to ship approximately 30 days after the purchase window is closed.

I was able to partner with Julio Franco on this project and am happy to share that autographed copies are also available in addition to the regular copies. Just choose the "Autographed" option on the product page to grab a copy signed by Julio himself.

From the Artist:

This project always has me going back to the magical age of 10,11, 12 years old. That age seems to have a lot of magic in it for many folks - and I'm no exception. I remember the summer of 1990 was a magical summer for me. It was late July and I was 11-years old. My parents took me on a road trip across the United States that year. We stopped to visit family along the way, and if there was a baseball stadium nearby, we took a tour of it. We toured Busch Stadium (RIP!), Kauffman Stadium, and, even better than a tour, we got to catch an actual Rangers / Yankees game at Arlington Stadium (also RIP). At the time, Nolan Ryan was a big favorite of mine and it was just a few games away from what ended up being his 300th win. While I was disappointed not to see Ryan pitch, I was incredibly excited to see Julio Franco. That stance. That memorable stance was already so iconic even then; knees locked, bat overhead and aimed at the pitcher, 2 fingers off the knob. I was thrilled to have seen him play in person, even if it was only once.

At the time of course, Franco was not known for his long career - that was a decoration added to an incredible career in a game he still is incredibly passionate about. It's hard to believe that while I saw him at 11, he was already almost a decade into his MLB career with nearly 20 years left! With names like "Methuselah" and "The Ageless Wonder" - it got me thinking about where someone with nicknames like that could've begun. This piece was a LOT of fun to do and I hope that is obvious here in the work. This project has had monsters, zombies, werewolves, robots so far - and now I can add dinosaurs to the list.

This art print (not a comic book) is printed on double-thick card stock & comes packaged in all the nostalgia you can ask for. *Frame not included

Featured on Hot Stove:

A new piece of art each week -- a baseball-themed 7” x 10.5” giclee printed cardstock art print of an original artist-made piece of art. That's right, this isn't a comic book, it's just one piece of fun baseball-themed nostalgia at a time. There are 20 different art prints released in a season (1 per week) and once they're gone… they're gone! From then on they'll only be available at higher cost on the secondary market.

“Every time I look at these prints, I think of my father. If artists can channel their adversity into incredible works of art that we get to enjoy, then we should challenge ourselves to turn our struggles into something that can benefit others.”
