This is a collaboration with Bill Lee himself. In addition to the regular pieces, Bill Lee signed and copies inscribed with "Spaceman" are also available

In the marvelous world of Major League Baseball, there emerged a hero not clad in spandex nor caped in glory, but robed in a Boston Red Sox uniform with a fastball as cunning as any trick up a superhero’s sleeve. Meet Bill "Spaceman" Lee, a pitcher whose antics on and off the field captivated fans and rattled foes throughout the 1970s. With a pitching style as unpredictable as his off-the-mound commentary, Bill spun his baseballs and tales with a wit that could only belong to a true defender of the diamond.

Venturing further into the annals of baseball lore, Bill Lee's career was more than just a series of games; it was a saga. Whether hurling his famed "Leephus" pitch—a slow, arching throw that puzzled batters and spectators alike—or philosophizing about the cosmos, Lee turned every game into a spectacle of cosmic proportions. His tenure with the Red Sox and later the Montreal Expos wasn't just about strikeouts and ERA; it was about challenging the conventions of the sports world and inspiring a legion of fans to think differently about the game. Like the superheroes he mirrored, Lee showed us that being different could be powerful, and that baseball, much like life, is as much about the spirit you bring to the field as the skills you wield.

“Every time I look at these prints, I think of my father. If artists can channel their adversity into incredible works of art that we get to enjoy, then we should challenge ourselves to turn our struggles into something that can benefit others.”

Meet the Artist

Daniel is the artist that designs all of our Pop Fly Pop Shop prints. Every piece is made with purposeful intentionality and thoughtful effort. Daniel is a storyteller, and during every drop, he is able to showcase the player’s journey and important moments from their career. The art prints do not simply focus on the player's image but about the entire path that has led them to the big leagues.
